Maternity Leave - Important Information!

Hello from the third trimester!

Time is ticking by super quickly just now and so whilst on a breather from Wonderwool preparation I thought it would be a good idea to update you all on the important upcoming dates and what to expect from Sealy MacWheely over the coming months.

24-28th April 2025 - Wonderwool Wales (Shop Closed)

Thursday 1st May - No Knit'n'Natter as I will be recuperating from the trip to Wales

Saturday 3rd May - Shop Open as Usual 12-4pm

Thursday 8th May - Baby Shower and Final Knit'n'Natter!

Saturday 10th May - Shop Party - Everyone Welcome! 12-4pm

Monday 12th May - My Maternity Leave Officially Starts

Thanks to my small team of amazing volunteers the online shop will remain open throughout my time away but the physical shop including appointments, tuition and Knit'n'Natter will be closed except for occasional days which will be posted on social media in advance.

Please note that emails and DMs via social media will be responded to as speedily as possible by one of my volunteers, please be patient as our world is about to be turned upside down by a tiny human.

The Team:

Lizzi (aka Baby Seal - she is unwilling to pass this moniker down to the Seal Pup)
Many of you will recognise my wee and ever-patient sister from shows and events, she will be taking over the majority of the admin work upon my absence including emails.

James
My wonderful partner and baby-daddy will be helping not only at home with the child-rearing but will also be dispatching parcels and keeping an eye on any online orders.

Fizz
My long-suffering and patient helper, Fizz has been helping me out with the behind the scenes running of the shop since that very first day when she appeared at my window with screwdriver in hand asking if I'd like a hand setting up. She will be helping with online orders and keeping the shop ticking over.

Pauline
For the last couple of years Pauline has been a regular helper in the shop, mostly regarding stock keeping and website maintenance and making sure that I keep on top of the admin work. This role will continue over the coming months, helping Lizzi when needed.

A lot of this information is liable to change at short notice depending on the wee one and when they decide to arrive but keep an eye on social media for any scheduled open days in the shop.

As yet I have absolutely no idea how long I will be able to take away on maternity leave so this feels very open-ended which is a bit daunting but I am looking forward to spending time with my growing family and appreciate your ongoing support whilst I navigate this new 'normal'.

Beannachdan,

Katie x
