Hand turned specially for Sealy MacWheely by local craftsman, John Hamilton, each spindle is unique but perfectly balanced to ensure a smooth and enjoyable spinning experience. Each spindle features both a hook for top whorl spinning and a notch at the bottom to allow for bottom whorl spinning to suit your personal preference.

Options

Material: Choose between an Ash, Cherry, Beech or Yew whorl. Each spindle is unique but the average weight is roughly 45g and is capable of spinning a range of yarn weights from fine to chunky. Each spindle is tested by myself before shipping to ensure a balanced centre of gravity.

Add Fibre: Add any of the custom blend tops from the Hitchhikers and Firefly ranges to your order and receive 33% off your fibre! Discount will be added to your basket automatically and is not available on art batts or hand dyed top.

Add Tuition New to spinning and want some help to get you started? Add a learn to spin Gift Certificate to your order which can be redeemed against either a virtual course (available soon) or an in-person one to one class post-pandemic.

Please note that as each spindle is one of a kind I cannot guarantee the specific aesthetic of each individual purchase beyond the whorl material. If you wish to choose your own spindle you are more than welcome to visit me in the shop to try before you buy!
