The Alba yarn collection is exclusive to Sealy MacWheely and has been blended and spun specially to my specifications with a unique blend of top quality British bred fibres.

Each colourway has been inspired by the landscape, language and folklore of the beautiful country of Scotland:

Ruis [Ruʃ] (Roosh) is the Scottish Gaelic name for the Elder tree, one of the most mystical and folklore-abundant trees within Scotland. Although there are myths abound about the Elder it is the medicinal qualities of both the flowers and berries that have lasted through to the present day. Elderflower tea is a traditional remedy for colds and flu-like symptoms, while elderberry drinks have long been prescribed to soothe coughs and sore throats. Despite the relative scarcity of the Elder tree in the Highlands and Islands, the parts of the tree used for dying were also important to the Harris Tweed industry. Blue and purple dyes can be made from the berries, yellow and green from the leaves and grey and black from the bark.

This yarn has been worsted spun for a soft yet rustic yarn, the perfect match of luxury and performance.
