The Alba yarn collection is exclusive to Sealy MacWheely and has been blended and spun specially to my specifications with a unique blend of top quality British bred fibres.

Each colourway has been inspired by the landscape, language and folklore of the beautiful country of Scotland:

Sguab [sguəb] (sg-oo-eb) is the Scottish Gaelic name for the plant known as Scotch Broom, the bark of which can be used to produce fibre for both spinning or paper making and the leaves and young tips produce a green dye that was once used to colour clothes and garments. The Broom is also the only native medicinal plant used as an official medicinal drug and is an effective diuretic, having been used in folk medicine for centuries to help with kidney and bladder issues.

This yarn has been worsted spun for a soft yet rustic yarn, the perfect match of luxury and performance. Enjoy the softness of British Bluefaced Leicester, the durability of the Scottish Shetland and the luxury of the UK bred Alpaca, expertly blended for an exquisite feel that's built to last. Experience the warmth and comfort of this exclusive yarn – perfect for your special projects!

Semisolid yarns make a great contrast for your favourite variegated hand dyed skeins or can be used by themselves to add a pop of colour to your next project. They feature subtle tonal variations which add a beautiful depth of shade when knitted or crocheted up.

This range can be dyed to order, please contact me for jumper quantity requests.
